CWDM SFF

The CWDM small form-factor (SFF) is a compact optical transceiver used in optical communications for both telecommunication and data communications applications on the 1310, 1330, 1350, 1370, 1390, 1410, 1430, 1450, 1470, 1490, 1510, 1530, 1550, 1570, 1590, 1610 nm wavelength.

It is a popular industry format supported by several fiber optic component vendors. SFF transceivers are designed to support SONET/SDH, Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and other communications standards SFF transceivers are available with a variety of different transmitter and receiver types, allowing users to select the appropriate transceiver for each link to provide the required optical reach over the available optical fiber.

SFF transceivers are commercially available with capability for datarates up to 4.25 Gbit/s.
